Some three platoons of rookie policemen, from as far as the Bicol Region and Mountain Province, arrived last week at the NPD Headquarters to augment its regular force.
In Caloocan City where the police ratio to residents is 1:2,000, at least nine crime-prone areas were identified by the NPDO: Camarin, Bagong Silang, Sangandaan, Maypajo, Bagong Barrio, A. Mabini Street, 10th Avenue, Amparo Subdivision, and Bagumbong.
In Navotas, Barangay Tanza, North Bay Boulevard South, and Dagat-Dagatan are crime-prone. Six barangays in Malabon City: Catmon, Tanong, Sangay, Tugatog, Ibaba, and Potrero were also crime-prone. In Valenzuela City, the are Barangays Marulas, Paseo de Blas, Karuhatan, Canumay, Gen. T. de Leon and Sapang Bato, Parado Road, Punturin Road, and P. Parula Road.
Police said that most crimes committed in those areas are robbery and homicide. Pete Laude
