Museo opens Bonifacio show

The Museo ng Maynila opened yesterday the Andres Bonifacio traveling exhibit entitled: "Andres Bonifacio: Pillar of Freedom/Iqn the Katipunan’s Crusade of August 1986" at the lobby of the University of Santo Tomas University Main Building.

With the supervision of Museo ng Maynila’s officer-in-charge Monina Santiago, the traveling exhibit which kicked-off from the Rodriguez Hall in Manila City Hall last December has been well received by several universities in Manila.

It touches on the Katipunan’s August 1896 activities, and it features information about Andres Bonifacio’s life, his roots, his youth, his marriage, and his leadership in the Katipunan that is very influential and inspirational for Manileños especially the students. The exhibit also displayed representational objects to serve as visual aids for better understanding.

The traveling exhibit honors Bonifacio, the native son of Tondo, who gave his life for Philippine independence. As the Supremo ng Katipunan, he mobilized the Filipinos and led them to fight against the seemingly invincible Spaniards.
