FX Taxi falls off ravine: 1 dies, 14 hurt

A sexagenarian was killed while 14 others were injured when the FX taxi they were riding fell off a ravine after being bumped by another vehicle in Marikina City, Sunday.

The victim, Leonardo Lubosana, 64, of Urban Bliss, barangay Barangka died on the spot.

Those injured were identified as Francisco Ramos Borromeo, 25; Estrella Ramos General, 28; Jasmin Tejones, 20; Jessica Ramos, 16; Hector Tabuzo, 39; Dino Sinuta, 28; Felix Padroga, 31; Jane Warner, 31; Elden Andolano, 23; Rico Tero, 29; Nicanor Lejo, 17; Sheirma Lozano, 25; and Rolando Tagarino, 45, the driver of the FX taxi.

They were taken to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial hospital for treatment.

Police said Tagarino was maneuvering his FX taxi (plate number PVR 381) to unload a passenger along Dizon Street at about 9:15 p.m. when it was bumped from behind by a KIA Ceres Dropside (UAW 731) driven by Rodel Ramos, 31.

Due to the impact, Tagarino’s FX taxi fell into the ravine.

Ramos was unhurt but his four passengers were among those injured, said Superintendent Domingo Alzaga, Marikina City traffic enforcement group (TEG) chief. – Non Alquitran
