Rob victims hog-tied

Six unidentified men barged into the house of a Filipino-Chinese family in Valenzuela City early Sunday night, hog-tied its three occupants, and carted away cash and jewelry amounting to over P20,000, the police said.
Police investigators said Yu Kim Kuan, 67, Liano Cua, 50, and Steven Cua, 19, were tied up by the robbers while housewife Shu Li Ong-Cua, 43, was left unharmed.
The robbers, said to be armed with handguns and knives, forcibly entered the house located at 88 Ilang-Ilang St., Don Pedro Subdivision, Barangay Marulas, at around 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Cua told police probers that the suspects, who were in their mid-twenties, cut the telephone lines, hogtied her companions and ransacked the house.
The robbers stayed for about thirty minutes and fled on board a waiting Tamaraw FX van with plate number WRA-409, Mrs. Cua said.
The robbers, she added, fled towards the McArthur Highway in Barangay Marulas. Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) later lifted fingerprints left by the robbers to determine their identities. Nikko Dizon
