Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested 41 women said to be engaged in prostitution following a dawn raid on a sauna bath parlor in Quezon city yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Nestorio Gualberto, CIDG director, said the raid on Happy Sauna Bath and Health Club along Rodriguez Avenue was made following complaints that the club was a front for prostitution.
Chief Inspector Felicidad Gido, chief of the CIDG-Women and Children’s Concerns Office (WACCO), who headed the raiding team, claimed several of the attendants were caught having sex with their customers.
The raiders, passing themselves off as customers and paying the P400 entrance fee, were allowed to pick attendants of their choice.
Inside their respective cubicles, the attendants asked their "customers" for P500 each for "extra" services.
The arrested attendants were taken to Camp Crame for investigation and appropriate action, as most of them were minors and had no work permits.
