Mrs. Eusebio takes crash course on management

Barely two weeks before she assumes her post as Pasig City mayor, Idad Eusebio, wife of outgoing Mayor Vicente Eusebio, took a five-day crash course on local governance at the University of the Philippines (UP).

Eusebio is hoping that the orientation course at the UP Center on Local and Regional Governance would deepen her know-how regarding her work and management style, especially on the introduction and updates of local governance.

Mrs. Eusebio will be replacing her husband Vicente, a third-term mayor on July 1.

The incoming mayor said she wanted to follow the footsteps of her husband in steering Pasig into a better, if not the best city in Metro Manila. She said she would consult her husband on matters of governance when the need arises.

"I need to consult my former mayor husband because he has had the vast experience being in the post for three terms," Mrs. Eusebio said.

The five-day seminar started yesterday with Mrs. Eusebio leading the batch of local officials and the newly-elected vice mayor and councilors in attendance.

Joining the incoming mayor were re-electionist Vice Mayor Lorna Bernardo, Councilors Fortunato Co. Jose Talco Jr., Joy Buenaventura, Alejandro Santiago, Gregorio Rupisan Jr., Roberto Barretto, Robert Eusebio, Rosalio Martirez, Reynaldo Raymundo, Chamie Benavidez, Aquilino dela Cruz, and Mac Cruz.

The other officials are Reynaldo Dionisio, city administrator; Benjamin Angeles and Ricardo Castillo, city legal officer; Victor Endriga, city treasurer; and all division heads. – Non Alquitran
