Stephen Blair, 49, said to be a medical doctor, was accused of rape by 19-year-old grocery store employee Erlinda Danas, of Muelle del Rio, Port Area, Manila during their first encounter at room 1737 of Holiday Inn Hotel along United Nations Avenue in Ermita, Manila.
The Western Police District (WPD) General Assignment Sections (GAS) blotter records indicate that the complaint could not be acted upon as the WPD Women and Childrens Desk had no officer on duty Saturday night when the complaint was filed until late afternoon yesterday police sources, however, said the American has been arrested.
Based on the blotter record of the WPD-GAS, Blair reportedly forced Danas to have sex with him at about 7 p.m. inside his room.
Danas said she managed to escape only at about 1 oclock the following morning leaving behind the suspect.
Blair was reportedly arrested Saturday night.
Meanwhile, police found yesterday morning the lifeless body of a 21-year-old woman, who was raped and stabbed dead by a still unidentified man the other night in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Victim Julieta Olano, of Feliciano Compound, Maligaya Park, Pasong Putik, Novoliches, was found dead in a private lot near her home with stab wounds in the body.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was last seen leaving her residence for Cubao. At about 7 a. m. she was found dead by a certain Mario Mejia, 39, on a vacant lot located behind a gas station along Quirino Highway, Pasong Putik.
Mejia immediately called for help as operatives of the Central Police District arrived at the scene. They found Olano naked and with stab wounds in the stomach and the back.
Police theorized that the victim was already on her way home at the wee hours of the morning when the suspect appeared and dragged her to a dark portion of the area. With Matthew Estabillo
