Barber charged for raping 2 daughters

-
A 33-year-old barber was charged with multiple rape yesterday for allegedly sexually molesting his two daughters, ages 13 and 10, in Mandaluyong City.

PO3 Sonia Gaviana, filed the charges against the suspect at the Mandaluyong City prosecutor’s office.

Superintendent Jose Gentiles, Mandaluyong City police chief said the suspect, whose identity The STAR withheld to protect the victims, was arrested on the complaint of his two daughters, who were accompanied by their mother.

The elder victim said she was only three years old when their father started molesting her. The younger victim said her father started raping her when she was eight years old.

Gaviana said the suspect, who is detained at the Mandaluyong Criminal Investigation Division (CID) jail, raped his daughters every time their mother was away at work as a seamstress. The victims are two of three girls in a family of seven children.

The elder victim said that at first the suspect would only insert his finger. But when she reached the age of six, or three years later, her father started forcing himself on her.

The first time she was raped, the suspect placed his lighted lighter in front of her face threatening to burn her. She kept her ordeal to herself out of fear, she said.

However, the elder victim got pregnant last year. She had a miscarriage after her father forced her to take a certain drug. It was then that the elder victim revealed her ordeal to her mother.

But out of fear that their family would be dragged into public humiliation, the mother forgave the suspect after he pleaded that he be given another chance. Non Alquitran
