Raided by agents of the NBI’s Background Investigation Division was the Pasco-Certeza Computer Mapping Corporation located at the third floor of Strata 100 Building on Emerald Avenue, Ortigas Center.
Seized during the raid were 20 personal computers, 81 central processing units and a CD-ROM disk containing the pirated copy of AutoCAD Release 14.
The value of the seized pirated software and the computer peripherals were placed by the NBI at about P21 million. The seized items are now in the safekeeping of the NBI.
According to head agent Rafael Ragos of the NBI-BID, the raid stemmed from a complaint filed by a certain Anthony Bengzon, lawyer for Autodesk Inc. accusing the Pasco-Certeza Computer Mapping Corp. of allegedly using pirated AutoCAD software. – Mike Frialde
