Bryan Daz, 16, a tricycle driver and a second year student of the Don Mariano High School, of Cotabato St., Bago Bantay, was collared Tuesday at about 3 p.m. at the tricycle terminal in Palawan street, Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.
Alvin Aquino, 38, also a tricycle driver and Daz’s neighbor, was arrested in front of his house yesterday at about 12 p.m. Both suspects are now detained at the Central Police District headquarters as they await proper charges.
The victim, a third year honor student of the St. Vincent School in Bago Bantay, filed formal complaints against the suspects after recovering from shock, which was the reason why she could not report her ordeal immediately.
Police are now hunting the third suspect, who has reportedly left Quezon City, upon learning that his two cohorts were apprehended.
The incident occurred last week at about 7 p.m. in Bago Bantay. The girl reportedly flagged down a tricycle driven by Daz and told him to take her to a bookstore.
Along the way, Daz pulled over and two other men jumped in. One of the suspects allegedly threatened her with a knife while another blindfolded her with a handkerchief.
The girl said, being blindfolded prevented her from knowing where the suspects took her, but claimed the three took turns in raping her. She was later released near SM City, and the suspects escaped on board the tricycle. – Matthew Estabillo
