Munti marks cityhood anniversary

-
Muntinlupa City has successfully clinched the International Standards Organization’s 9002 certification for public service in time for the city’s celebration of its sixth cityhood anniversary today.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has expressed pride and jubilation over the development saying it would make their anniversary celebration extra special.

"This is proof that we have been successful in our bid to professionalize the city bureaucracy and improve management standards in city government offices giving way to better delivery of basic goods and services to the people of Muntinlupa," Fresnedi said.

ISO certification is a much sought after recognition by private and public companies as it serves as an indication of their high standard compliance in areas of management responsibility, quality system, process control, quality records, training and servicing.

Fresnedi said they had only been informed by the TUV Product, an ISO accrediting consulting firm based in Geneva, of their successful bid for the certification early this week.

The mayor, along with city assessor Florencio Ciriaco and city treasurer Nelia Barlis, will receive the certificate from TUV Product representatives during ceremonies today.

Fresnedi will also lead "soft" opening ceremonies of the 150-bed Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

Also to be celebrated is the anniversary of the Muntinlupa’s sister city pact with Gunma of Japan which will be represented by philantropist Hiyoshi Osawa.

To make the first day of March more meaningful and remarkable, a book regarding the history and political concerns in Muntinlupa will be launched today. The book is authored by a reputed professor from the University of the Philippines.

The creation of the book was coordinated with the National Historical Institute and some information were validated with the city’s respected elders. – Rainier Allan Ronda
