Trader shot dead

Two unidentified men shot dead a Filipino-Chinese trader and wounded his companion near a dimly-lit overpass in Quiapo, Manila, last Friday night.
Reports reaching the Western Police District Homicide Section identified the victim as Eddy Dee, 47, of Juan Luna st., Binondo, Manila.
His wounded companion was identified as Stanley Nio, 38, of 1326 Gelinos st., Sta. Cruz.
Initial investigation showed that the victims were walking near the stairs of the overpass in Gonzalo st., corner Quezon Boulevard when the two men accosted them at about 8:20 p.m. and opened fire with pistols.
Dee sustained multiple gunshot wounds in various parts of the body and died on the spot while Nio was rushed by bystanders to the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital for immediate treatment.
After the shooting, the two suspects fled on foot towards unknown direction, police said. Mike Frialde
