The local ticket of the Lapian ng Masang Pilipino (LAMP) will be led by mayoral bet Joseph Victor Ejercito, son of ousted President Estrada with former actress Guia Gomez.
"Most of our councilors are neophytes with age ranging from 25 to 28 years old. We have a very good lineup and intend to infuse new blood to the muncipal council," a LAMP official said.
Mr. Estrada stepped down from the presidency last Saturday and returned to his home in Polk st., Greenhills.
The former President started his political career in San Juan in 1965. He became a senator, vice president and finally the country’s chief executive.
Despite his being retired from politics, Mr. Estrada is expected to throw his all-out support and campaign for his son JV and his ticket.
It was Mr. Estrada who picked JV’s running mate during a meeting last Dec. 31, incumbent Councilor Edgar Soriano.
During the same meeting, the slate for councilors was also handpicked by the former President. They were Christopher Torzar, Domingo Sese, Angelino Mendoza, Dante Santiago and Roberto Zaragosa for District 1 and Anthony Carballo, Grace Cortez, Francis Peralta, Ronaldo Bernardo and Clemente Vargas for District 11. – Non Alquitran
