Western Police District operatives are tracking down a drug addict "thrill killer" who reportedly gunned down a buy and sell trader in Sta. Cruz, Manila Friday night.
Police identified the suspect as Elvis Turingan, 38, a native of Cagayan province and temporarily residing at Tindalo St., Tondo, Manila. His latest victim was identified as trader Dolphy Jamuad, 34, of Novaliches, Quezon City.
Investigation showed that Jamuad was standing in front of the Tandem Theater along Claro M. Recto Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. when the suspect approached him and shot him with a caliber .45 pistol.
Jamuad who was hit once in the chest was rushed to the Mary Chiles Hospital but died on the way. Turingan, meanwhile, escaped on foot.
Police records show that the suspect was also behind the fatal shooting of a certain Roberto Carabero, 24, last Dec. 24 at about 11:20 p.m. inside the Honeymoon Lodge along Rizal Avenue in Sta. Cruz.
Investigation showed that Carabero was gunned downed by the suspect after the latter mistook him for a policeman. Carabero sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest and died after one week of confinement at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Homicide head Chief Inspector Juanito Taluban said Turingan could still be holed-up in Sta. Cruz waiting for his next victim. Operatives of the WPD Homicide section have intensified their hunt for the suspect.
Meanwhile, apparently bothered by financial woes, a school janitor decided to end his life by jumping from the fourth floor of the Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology building in Nagtahan, Manila.
Investigation conducted by the Western Police District Homicide Section showed that the victim, Angelo Sangalan, married, of 211 Marzan St., Sampaloc, Manila was seen sitting ontop the corridor railings of the schools fourth floor at about 4 p.m. Mike Frialde
