Newspaper account executive shot dead near QC bar

An account executive of the Sunstar and Malaya publications was shot dead by one of the three unidentified men during a heated argument over a guest relation officer (GRO) in front of a videoke bar in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Victim Gaynor Sorsogon, 51, of 190 Aquarius Avenue, Bancom Life Subdivision, San Mateo, Rizal suffered a gunshot wound in the face. The suspects boarded a motorcycle and fled after the shooting.
Senior Police Officer 1 Cresenciano Bajao, officer on case, said the incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. in front of J&L Videoke Bar located on Kamuning Road corner T. Gener Street.
Investigation showed that Gaynor had a heated altercation with the three suspects over a woman entertainer of the nightclub.
Investigators disclosed the victim was on his way out of the videoke bar when he was confronted by his attackers for allegedly courting a GRO who was a girlfriend of one of the suspects.
One of the suspects pulled out a handgun of unknown caliber and shot the victim in the face. Police investigators said the woman involved also left the establishment in a hurry after learning of the shooting.
Meanwhile, an alleged drug pusher was shot dead by his maintainers in Quezon City early yesterday morning reportedly after telling them that he was quitting his drug peddling activities.
Victim Rene Lamsing, 34, single, native of Bohol, and resident of 44 Lumot Street, Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians at the UERM Hospital. He sustained a gunshot wound in the chest.
A manhunt was launched against the suspects said to be led by Danilo Deudor, alias Totoy Taling, of 28-G Araneta Ave., Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.
The other suspects were identified as Danilo’s uncle, Police Officer 3 Delfin Deudor, who is detailed at the Central Police District-Station 11 (Galas), a certain Jet-Jet, a certain Bong and Elmer.
Senior Police Officer 1 Rodrigo Barrameda, officer-on-case, said Jet-Jet and his two companions fetched the victim from his house earlier. Lamsing was reportedly accompanied by his live-in-partner Erlinda Cortez.
Investigation showed the suspects brought the victim and Erlinda to Danilo’s residence at 28-G Araneta Avenue, Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.
Police learned that Danilo had recruited Lamsing in his drug peddling business by supplying the latter with illegal drugs.
While talking to Danilo, the victim discussed his intention to leave the illegal drugs business. Upon learning of the victim’s intention to quit, Danilo allegedly got angry and shot Lamsing.
