Tricycle kills old woman

A 63-year-old woman was killed after she was accidentally hit by a speeding tricycle the other day in Tala, Caloocan City.
The victim, identified as Adelina Yomboan, of Phase 2, Package 2, Block 8, Lot 11, Bagong Silang, Caloocan, sustained head and body injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Tala Hospital.
Suspect Pepito Rufino, a resident of Phase 16, Lot 7, Dela Costa Homes, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, voluntarily surrendered to police.
Reports showed that the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. along LD Highway, Tala.
The victim was crossing the road near an intersection when the tricycle driven by Rufino came speeding out of nowhere and accidentally rammed her.
The suspect rushed Yomboan to the hospital where she died. Rufino is now detained at the city police detention cell and is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. Matthew Estabillo
