American Field Service reunion tomorrow

-
American Field Service (AFS) returnees will hold a grand reunion at the Meralco clubhouse on Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City tomorrow starting at 6 p.m. The theme of the reunion is "The AFS Family Converging Towards the Third Millennium."

Reunion organizer Denise Pineda of the 12th Batch, said her group is calling on all AFSers to come in full force to the reunion, the first in the new millennium. The AFS program in the Philippines, which started in 1956 had sent hundreds of Filipino exchange students to the United States to study in an American high school and live with an American foster family for one year.

The highlight of the reunion will be the giving of Awards of Recognition to outstanding AFS scholars who have made their mark in government and in the private sector, Pineda said. There will also be a discussion of plans for the in-country summer program for young people and the AFS Returnees’ Web Page.

For more details, please call up any of the following members of the 12th Batch: Hector Dimacali (637-1854); Rudy Quetua (631-5665), Butch Lot (929-6906) or Denise Pineda (931-3440).
