Renewal of business permits in Muntinlupa slated

-
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi called on local businessmen to renew, at the earliest time, their business and mayor’s permits which is set for Jan. 2 to 20 at the People’s Center of the Muntinlupa City Hall.

Fresnedi said the yearly activity is being implemented to give the private investors the ultimate convenience in renewing their business licenses.

A one-stop-shop will be installed at the People’s Center manned by the representatives of all departments relevant to the business license renewal at the city hall.

The mayor said the revenues that will be collected from the 18-day activity will be used to provide basic services to the people. He said the city government has lined up various big projects for implementation, including the construction of a major skyway and an underpass, among others.

He said investors need not hop from one building to another or from Muntinlupa to Manila to acquire their permits because all the requirements can be gathered at the People’s Center.

The requirements are as follows: Registration from the Department of Trade and Industry or from the Securities and Exchange Commission; community tax certificate; barangay clearance for business; homeowners association clearance.

Zoning clearance; certificate of occupancy; fire safety inspection clearance; sanitary permit; Lake Management Office clearance; Public Employment Service Office clearance; Social Security Service clearance; and other clearances depending on the nature of the business.

Last year, Muntinlupa was cited as one of the most business-friendly local government units (LGU) by the Board of Investments (BOI) in its survey.

Fresnedi said the city’s business registration rules has become a role model for other local government units to follow.

The BOI noted that Muntinlupa has one of the most ideal rules and regulations implemented by an LGU for the purpose of allowing investors establish business in the community.

The city’s Muntinlupa Business Center (MBC) under the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) has another "one-top-shop" set-up designed to suit the needs of the investors and traders in acquiring their business permits.
