Bank executive killed in Parañaque

A pretty bank executive was stabbed to death by a drunken would-be rapist while she was on her way home from a Christmas party in Parañaque City Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Anabelle Guillermo, 38, married, an assistant manager of a Makati City branch of the Equitable-PCI Bank, and resident of 533 Simon St., Annex 41, barangay Sun Valley. She succumbed to a stab wound in the abdomen while being taken to the South Superhighway Medical Center.

Arrested by policemen was suspect Joel Villones, 26, single, a native of Roxas City and residing at Siete y Media street, Antipolo City.

Recovered from him was a kitchen knife he used to stab Guillermo. Police said Villones, whose yellow shirt was streaked with Guillermo’s blood, reeked of liquor.

Investigation disclosed the incident took place at around 10:40 a.m. while Guillermo was walking along Jonathan street on her way home from a neighbor’s party. From out of nowhere, Villones suddenly grabbed the victim and dragged her to a grassy vacant lot along the street.

There, Villones was supposedly about to rape Guillermo when she screamed for help and ran away. Panicking, Villones ran after Guillermo and stabbed her, the police said. – Rainier Allan Ronda
