December 19, 2000 | 12:00am
Police arrested one of two men who allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl inside a vulcanizing shop along C-3 Road, Navotas.
Eudardo Iraya, 29, a stay-in helper at the vulcanizing shop on C-3 in front of a sardines factory was nabbed on Sunday and is now detained at the Navotas police detention cell.
The other suspect, known only as "Christian," also an employee of the shop, is now being hunted by authorities. Reports showed that the incident occurred at about 5 p.m. along C-3 Road while the victim was walking home. The girl is an alleged stow-away, and was staying with a friend.
Without warning, the suspect dragged her inside the vulcanizing shop and allegedly raped her. Iraya said the victim was Christian’s girlfriend.
Police, however, are now puzzled over the mysterious disappearance of the victim, who reportedly also ran away from her friend’s place after the sexual attack. – Matthew Estabillo
