Boy killed, dad injured in Malabon

A 15-year-old boy was killed while his father was injured after they were attacked by a pedicab driver with a knife following an altercation the other day in Malabon.

Jason Pascual, an out-of-school-youth and a resident of 31 Paez St., Barangay Concepcion, suffered a stab wound in the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon.

His father Leonardo, 45, a carpenter, was also stabbed by suspect Ronald Susma, 26, of Sitio Gulayan, Barangay Catmon, in the left shoulder.

The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt conducted by authorities. Police reports said the incident took place at about 6:30 p.m. along Paez St.. Susma was on board his pedicab when he sideswiped Jason, who was riding a bicycle.

The younger Pascual lost his balance and fell on the ground, This triggered a heated argument between the two. The suspect then drew out a fan knife and stabbed the boy in the chest.

Leonardo who was nearby, tried to intervene, but was also stabbed in the left shoulder. Susma fled right after the incident.

Meanwhile, the lifeless body of a tricycle driver was found inside a passenger jeepney early yesterday morning in Malabon.

Victim Dante Bartolome of Katipunan St., Barangay Bayan-Bayanan, Malabon, was found dead with several stab wounds in the chest.

The body was found by Julian Repatan, 60, inside his jeep parked along Women’s St. in Barangay Relong Duhat at about 5:45 a.m.

Repatan said he was about to ply his trade when he noticed Bartolome’s body sprawled inside the vehicle. Police are now conducting follow-up operations against the killer. Matthew Estabillo
