Cop shot dead in drug-bust

A Caloocan City policeman was shot dead by a suspected drug pusher during a failed buy-bust operation yesterday morning in Sangandaan, Caloocan City.
Senior Police Officer 2 Alberto Lizarondo of the Drug Enforcement Unit sustained gunshot wounds in the chest and arm and was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians at the Manila Central University Hospital.
Operatives of the Caloocan City Police are now hunting down the suspect, identified as Enrique Dungao, 42, a resident of E. Jacinto Street in Sangandaan.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 1 a.m. at the rooftop of the suspects house.
Lizarondo and his colleague SPO2 Felimon Arenas were directed to verify information of Dungaos illegal activities. A brief chase ensued, afterwhich the victim was shot thrice and fell. Matthew Estabillo, Pete Laude
