In a forum, owners and representatives of SM Southmall, Uniwide Sales Metromall, Shakeys Restaurant, Maxs Restaurant, Mercury Drugstore, Fernandos Supermarket, McDonalds and Jollibee food chains, have also expressed willingness to help in the local governments information campaign on waste segregation and vowed to faithfully implement the program in their respective companies.
The Las Piñas Clean and Green Council chaired by Mrs. Mel Aguilar also met with local non-government organizations (NGO) and the local Federation of Las Piñas Homeowners Association (FOLPHA) and other socio-civic groups to draw their support and active participation in the Clean and Green program.
Aguilar said that the positive response of the business sector and other groups in the campaign has resulted in a decreased volume of daily garbage in the city.
Currently, the citys daily garbage collection averages from 600 to 650 tons per day which is evidently lower than that of the previous 700 to 750 tons daily.
Aguilar thanked the business establishments which have been actively participating in the citys clean and green project and urged them to further support the city government in all its programs. "
