Drug suspect stabbed dead in Binondo

For his apparent failure to remit drug money to his partners, a suspected drug pusher was stabbed dead by a still unidentified man in Binondo, Manila early yesterday morning.

Western Police District (WPD) homicide probers identified the victim as Javier Hernandez, 35, of Parola Compound, Tondo, Manila.

Investigation showed that at around 3 a.m., Hernandez was walking along the corner of Fulgeras street and Claro M. Recto Avenue when he was accosted by the suspect triggering a brief chase.

Witnesses said the suspect then caught up with Hernandez at the corner of Tabora and Ilaya streets. There, the suspect drew out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the body.

After making sure that the victim was dead, the suspect then casually fled on foot towards an unknown direction clutching the murder weapon.

Police said Hernandez died on the spot after sustaining stab wounds in the torso and left arm.
