American dies in hotel

-
An American national, reportedly a victim of a pacemaker failure, was found dead in his hotel room on Padre Faura street, Manila last Wednesday noon.

Reports reaching the Western Police District headquarters identified the victim as Bill Coady, 60, of Arizona. His body was discovered inside room 406 of the Iseya Hotel by chambermaid Liza Rosales.

Investigation showed that the victim registered at the hotel last Monday with his Filipina wife Alice Pactanac, 37, of 113 Maginhawa St. Pasay City, after spending their vacation in San Jose, Palawan.

Probers said the victim’s wife checked-out of the hotel last Tuesday and reportedly returned to Palawan.

Police received information that Coady had recently undergone a heart operation where a pacemaker was implanted. The WPD coordinated with the United States Embassy on the case. – Mike Frialde
