Teenager arrested for raping niece

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy Monday for allegedly raping his six-year-old niece inside their house in Barangay Portero, Malabon.

The suspect, a resident of Mangosteen Road, Portero whose identity is withheld for being a minor, is now detained at the Malabon police station.

Reports said the alleged rape happened at about 5 p.m. when the suspect forced himself inside the victim’s room and started touching the victim’s private parts.

Investigators said the suspect abused the victim, who awoke when he began touching her. The girl went into shock, but later began crying for help. The suspect later fled.

It was later in the evening that the victim’s parents learned of the incident when her mother noticed blood stains on the victim’s clothes.

When confronted, the victim revealed that she was raped.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man was also arrested for rape after a 10-year-old student confided to her classmates that she was repeatedly abused by her grandmother’s helper in Caloocan City.

The suspect was identified as Marciano Valera, a resident of 162 Kabulasan II, Caloocan, is now detained at the city’s police station and is facing charges of multiple statutory rape.

The victim’s teacher Marina Regenio of Benitez Elementary School, lodged a complaint against Valera after she learned of the victim’s ordeal through another pupil.

The suspect denied the accusations and claimed the victim seduced him into having sex with her. – Matthew Estabillo
