A report submitted by Ermita police station commander Superintendent Miguel Laurel to Western Police District director Chief Superintendent Avelino Razon Jr., said the rescue of the victims and the apprehension of their alleged abductors were conducted by operatives of the Rizal Park police community precinct led by Chief Inspector Jimmy Tiu.
The girls were rescued while in the company of their alleged abductors, four "hip-hop" boys aged 14 to 17, in a dimly lit portion of Rizal Park along Roxas Boulevard.
The disappearance of the girls, whose ages ranged from 13 to 15 years old, was reported by their parents to the Cavite police on Oct. 19.
According to the girls’ parents, their daughters failed to return home from school and were last seen in the company of four "hip-hop" boys.
The assistance of the Ermita police was sought by the girls’ parents after being informed that they were seen in the vicinity of Rizal Park.
The report showed the girls were befriended by their young abductors and later brought to Manila.
The suspects were turned over to the Cavite police force while the girls were returned to their parents. – Nestor Etolle
