Reports identified those arrested as Andy Lim, 28; Kent Go, 28; and Oswald Lim, 29; all natives of the People’s Republic of China and temporarily residing at 102 Sixth Avenue, Grace Park, Caloocan City.
According to Superintendent Marcelino Cardeno, acting chief of the Lopez, Tondo police station (Station 1), Lim and Go were spotted by barangay tanods suspiciously walking along Simeon de Leon street in Balut, Tondo.
The barangay guards grew more suspicious when the suspects spoke not a word of English or Tagalog. A check on the suspects led to the discovery of 15 grams of shabu.
The tanods then turned-over the two suspects to the WPD Station 1 for investigation and custody.
Later, Lim’s relative, a certain Oswald Lim went to the station and tried to bribe the detailed police officers with P20,000 in exchange for the suspects’ release. Police then immediately arrested him for bribery.
Bribery and drug possession charges are now being readied against the suspects, reports said.– Mike Frialde
