Suspect in rape of Pasig maid arrested
October 19, 2000 | 12:00am
Policemen arrested yesterday one of the four suspected drug addicts who allegedly gang-raped an 18-year-old housemaid Monday in Pasig City.
The suspect, Carlito Pajo, of Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City did not resist arrest when agents of Superintendent John Sosito, Pasig City police chief, arrested him inside his house.
The victim positively identified Pajo as among her attackers. During investigation, Pajo identified his companions as his brother, Nilo, Michael Doque and Richard Morillo. They are now being hunted by the police.
Sosito said since the victim arrived at her employer’s house from Iloilo province two months ago, the four suspects tried to befriend her.
Investigators said the victim left her employer’s house at about 10 p.m. Monday to throw out garbage. While walking back to the house, Doque, who was standing outside a construction site, called her over and asked her to help unlock the clasp of his bracelet.
Unaware that Doque had other motives, the victim obliged. It was at this point when Doque dragged her inside the vacant house where she was raped by the suspects.
The victim said one of the suspects, holding a bladed weapon, threatened her not to reveal her ordeal to anybody or they would kill her.
The employers of the victim said they heard a lady crying for help Monday night but they ignored it thinking that it was only a lover’s quarrel.
When the victim showed up at the house at 5 a.m. Tuesday, she was in a state of shock. Her employers accompanied her to the police station to file a complaint against the suspects. – Non Alquitran
