Accidents caused by oil on Makati road fatal to 2

-
Two men were killed in separate vehicular accidents yesterday morning along Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City.

Chief Inspector Candido Ruiz, head of the traffic division of the Southern Police District, said the incidents were caused by oil spilled by hooligans on the road.

The first casualty was identified as Antonio Lao, who lost control of his Nissan car upon passing the oil slick which slammed into a tree.

Lao was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital from severe head injuries while his two companions, Carlos Sy and Harlan Wong, were injured but declared out of danger.

The second incident took place on the same spot a few minutes after Lao’s mishap. The second fatality, identified only as Darins Garcia, was on board an owner-type jeep when it skidded due to the oil slick and hit the same tree.

Even while police were investigating the second accident, a man on board a motorcycle was injured when his bike skidded upon hitting the slick and he slammed to the pavement. – Marvin Sy
