MANILA, Philippines — Thirty people were rounded up during an anti-crime campaign in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City on Wednesday night.
Metro Manila police director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the residents were apprehended during the conduct of “Oplan Galugad,” “Bulabog” and “Sita” operations.
Fifteen of those who were arrested were caught for walking half-naked in the barangay. Ten were nabbed for drinking in public places.
Five others were accosted for smoking in public areas and violating traffic regulations.
“They were released after they received ordinance violation tickets from the city hall,” Nartatez said.
