Boy found dead with choke marks
CEBU, Philippines – A 17-year-old boy was found dead Friday morning in a secluded area in Sitio Upper, Barangay Binaliw, Danao City.
The victim, a habal-habal driver and resident of the said place, was believed to have been strangled to death with the use of a nylon rope after police noted strangulation marks on his neck.
Police Officer 3 Roselo Campo, desk officer at Danao City Police Station, said the person who discovered the body, also a resident of the area, was on her way to school at around 8 a.m. when she smelled something foul from the grasses.
The police believed that the body was dead for more or less 24 hours already when it was found.
Campo said it was possible that the victim was murdered and did not commit suicide because his body was found in a secluded area.
Danao police are still conducting a deeper investigation to know the real motive of the suspect who was presumed to have fled after the incident.
Campo said the victim's body was submitted for autopsy to determine the real cause of his death. (FREEMAN)
