Woman, 28, hangs self to death

CEBU, Philippines – A 28-year-old woman allegedly hanged herself to death inside her room of a house at Barangay Gun-ob in Lapu-Lapu City last Monday morning.

Cheryl Cahayagan, single and jobless, was found dead by her brother inside their house at around 7 a.m., according to PO3 Lydo Pinos, adding that there were no signs of forced entry or foul play.

Pinos said there were no external wounds on the victim. Cahayagan had her own room and her brother Archie went to her room to wake her up only to find her dead, hanging with her neck tied to a rope.

There were reports that Cahayagan, a lesbian, may have decided to kill herself after feeling she had no one to tell her problems to, as her brother was often away for work, said the police officer.

The remains of the victim was brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy, police said.
