Anger over his affairs drove her to hack him
CEBU, Philippines - Thirty-nine-year-old Jessica Grace Tiu, the live-in partner of former world boxing champion Malcom Tuñacao, said too much pain and anger over his affairs with other women had somehow drove her to attack him by hacking with a bolo last Wednesday morning.
Tiu, who is now detained and facing charges of frustrated homicide, said killing Tuñacao was not her intention and that she did not expect she will reach a point of physically hurting her live-in partner of 11 years already.
“Pag-uli niya diri, naa siya’y babaye. From Japan, naa pa gyud diay. Naa gyo’y personal kaayo nga di’ nako masulti kay sakit gyud bitaw kaayo nga iyang gibuhat. Pero wa gyud ko’y intention nga patyon siya. Siguro sa akong kalagot ug kahiubos, mao nga nabuhat ni nako,” she said.
Tiu earlier believed Tuñacao will change his ways, but the womanizing went to worse through the years. She also admitted that the boxer never laid a hand on her although he always battered her with hurting words.
Tuñacao is now at Chong Hua Hospital due to his injuries and is already recuperating after undergoing surgery, according to the boxer’s child who visited Tiu at the jail. Tuñacao can talk, but his voice cannot be heard.
Tiu also said Tuñacao’s family were initially at her, but she explained to them the painful experience she had gone through with him. (FREEMAN)
