Aid for family of deceased councilman out
CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Interior and Local Government has already released the death benefits of San Roque barangay councilman Cesar Abapo from Talisay City who died last March.
Based on the record of the DILG as of May, Abapo’s family will receive P12,000 cash assistance as part of the welfare benefit program for barangay officials as mandated under Executive Order 115.
Under Executive Order 115, beneficiaries of deceased barangay captains will get P22,000 each, while families of Sangguniang Barangay members, barangay secretaries, barangay treasurers, and Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons will receive P12,000.
The Department of Budget and Management has already released P2.326 million to settle the claims of the beneficiaries of 168 deceased barangay officials.
Aside from Abapo, the families of Binaliw Barangay councilman Edgar Batucan of Danao City, Roger Dakay of Barangay Sabang, Sibonga and Wenceslao Rolando of Barangay Cabunga-an, San Francisco, Camotes will also P12,000 each. (FREEMAN)
