Lone robber hits Mandaue bakeshop

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  A branch of Julie's Bakeshop in Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City lost P1,400 of its earnings after being robbed by a lone suspect on Tuesday evening.

Police said the robbery happened at around 10 p.m. while the cashier, Antonio Reyes, 22, was conducting inventory of their ice cream stock.

An unidentified suspect wearing a black jacket approached Reyes and immediately pointed a kitchen knife on him, police report said.

While pointing the knife at Reyes, the suspect then told him not to move as he declared the hold-up.

The suspect went into the cashier's booth, divested all the cash inside the  drawer and casually left the bakeshop.

The victim immediate called up the Basak Police Station but responding men failed to locate the suspect. — (FREEMAN)
