1 dead, another hurt in Naga commotion

CEBU, Philippines – A man died after being hit with a rock on the head while his other companion sustained gunshot wounds in a Sunday night commotion in Barangay Lanas, City of Naga, Cebu.

Randay Ocan of Barangay Uling, Naga died on the spot while his companion, only known as “Dugong”, sustained gunshot wounds in his left hand and leg.

Initial investigation revealed that the two victims, together with a third companion, a certain Noel Ricaña, came from a drinking spree.

While onboard a motorcycle driven by Dugong, Ocan reportedly pulled out a handgun and fired it in the air.

Later, a group of men confronted them which resulted into an argument.

Ocan was struck with a rock on the head and his gun taken from him.

Ricaña reportedly managed to run away from the commotion.

Dugong tried to pacify the commotion but an unidentified person shot him using the gun of Ocan.

Dugong reportedly managed to escape and hide from the group of men as Ocan died on the spot.

When the Special Weapons and Tactics personnel of City of Naga Police Station arrived, they found only Ocan lying bloodied on the road and brought Dugong to South General Hospital for treatment.

Naga police are still conducting hot pursuit operation for the identification and arrest of the perpetrators.
