Man, 56, 'hangs' self

CEBU, Philippines – A son found his 56-year-old father hanging dead in an apparent suicide inside their rented apartment in Barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City on Monday morning.

Niño Carlo Bodoso, 17, discovered his father Teofilo Bodoso hanging from the ceiling of their bathroom. Both are natives of Iloilo City.

The father reportedly hanged himself with the use of an electrical wire.

Personnel from Scene of the Crime Operatives found a note which asked forgiveness from the son for committing the act allegedly because he could not bear his problems.

The victim's body will be subjected for autopsy.

Police Officer 3 Dante Flores of the Centro Police Station said the son told him in an interview that only the two of them were living in the apartment as the older Bodoso was separated with his wife.

Prior to his death, the son said, the victim told him that he had a health problem and a case at a casino  where he was working as a banker.
