CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza said she is not threatened of a certain political party that is allegedly making noise for the 2016 elections.

"Paunaha lang na sila kay nagkinahanglan man sila moplastada daan," Radaza said in a recent media conference.

Former Punta Engaño barangay captain Angel Rodriguez earlier said his group, called "Team Angel ug Inday Neri," will show its complete list of lineup by the end of March. Rodriguez ran for congressional seat in Lapu-Lapu City’s lone district in the 2013 polls but lost to Representative Aileen Radaza.

Rodriguez said he will be running again but for mayor this time. He said former sixth district congresswoman Nerissa Soon-Ruiz will run as representative the Lapu-Lapu City.

Rodriguez told the media of his interest in running during the burial of the Jaime Daño, a former barangay captain aspirant and businessman, who was gunned down few moments after stepping out of the Lapu-Lapu City Hall of Justice last week. Ruiz, who was also present at the burial rites, confirmed she is "99.9 percent sure" of running. — Christell Fatima M. Tudtud (FREEMAN)
