Man with drugs nabbed

CEBU, Philippines – Police seized around 20 small packs of suspected illegal drugs from a 41-year-old man during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bukid-Bukid, Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City on Friday noon.

Senior Inspector Rogelio Pineda of City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said the drugs taken from suspect Ramir Igot had an estimated street value of P11,800.

Igot is a resident of the said barangay, police said.

The operation was carried out through a police poseur buyer who gave a P200 marked money in exchange for illegal drugs.

Aside from the seized white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu, another P300 in cash believed to be the proceeds of Igot's illegal transactions was also confiscated.

Igot was detained at LLCPO detention cell and a complaint related to Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.
