CEBU, Philippines – A public hearing was conducted by the Danao City government for the proposed amendments of its revised omnibus revenue code which aims to improve its tax collection, as well as the financing of the different priority projects of the city and delivery of basic services for the residents.

The public hearing was aimed to get the sentiments of the representatives of the different sectors on the proposed amendments of the city’s revenue code.

Stallholders, meat and hog dealers, water consumers, drivers, and fish vendors attended the public hearing at the Danao City Civic Center.

The public hearing was conducted by the City Council led by Danao City Vice-Mayor Ramon “Red” Durano VI.

Durano said that the activity was set to inform the city’s residents on the significance of the revenue code as one of the factors in determining the status of the city.

“Ang aim is to make the economic enterprises of the city economically viable,” Durano explained.

The vice mayor further emphasized that the revenue codes’ purpose is “to give fair rate to all” and in no way will be used in any form of corruption.
