Burglars attack Bucao’s home
CEBU, Philippines - Burglars stormed the house of former Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan Bucao yesterday morning, carting away gun, ammunitions and a high-end phone, authorities have reported.
Initial investigation revealed that unidentified perpetrators apparently destroyed the main door of Bucao's house in Barangay San Isidro at around 11:20 a.m.
According to Police Officer 2 Stephen Sefuesca of Talisay City Police, the suspects went inside the master's bedroom and took away a .45 cal. pistol with seven live ammunitions worth P40,000.
The intruders were also able to take from Bucao's house a cellular phone worth P21,000.
Reports said there were people in the house and in the master's bedroom at the time of the incident, however, they were not able to notice the burglars.
A closed-circuit television footage showed the suspects use a yellow motorcycle as their getaway vehicle but because they were wearing helmets, authorities were having a difficulty recognizing them.
Police said they will gather testimonies from the neighbors and vowed to look deeper into the robbery.
Police are now looking into an angle that the burglary was done by people known by Bucao's family. — (FREEMAN)
