In Mandaue; bonus, wage hike up for city workers
CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has signed two approved ordinances which give milestones bonus in line with the celebration of the city's 45th Charter Day Anniversary to all the regular employees of the city government.
This as Cortes also signed a separate approved ordinance which granted the increase in honorarium for the job order employees, the Clean and Green and the Barangay Health Nutrition Workers.
Both ordinances were sponsored by Councilor Diosdado Suico, the chairman of the Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation of the City Council.
The first ordinance granted the release of the P7,000 cash incentive and another P3,000 milestone bonus for a total of P10,000 to all the city's regular employees.
Meanwhile, the job order employees , Clean and Green and the Barangay Health and Nutrition Workers in the city can also have something to rejoice about as they will enjoy another round of increase in their salaries and honorarium this year. The newly-approved ordinance gives another salary differential to these employees after their old rates were also increased in April this year.
In the newly approved ordinance, the honorarium of the job order employees is increased by P40 per day.
It was known that the old rate of the JO was only P265 per day and it was increased to P300 last April, so with the new increase, they will enjoy a new rate of P340 per day.
City treasurer Regal Oliva said the P340 per day is also the current minimum wage of workers here in Central Visayas. Meanwhile, the employees of the Clean and Green will now enjoy a new rate of P3,660 per month from P3,000 in April this year. For BHNW, from an old rate P2,000 since April, they will now enjoy P2,660 honorarium with the newly approved ordinance. — (FREEMAN)
