Sports City International, which runs Metro Wear and Global Wear Apparels inside MEZ-1, signed a memorandum of agreement with the  officials of Consolacion, Liloan and Barangay Pajo in Lapu-Lapu City.

The same memorandum of agreement was signed by the company and other towns and cities in northern Cebu.

Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado said hundreds of residents in the different barangays in the town, most of them out-of-school youth, are presently working at the zone.

In Lapu-Lapu City, Barangay Pajo is one of the beneficiaries of SCI's program.

During the signing, Pajo barangay captain Junard "Ahong" Chan represented the barangay while Kim Francisco represented the locator being the manager of SCI.

Qualified residents can avail of the two-week training for sewing.

After the training, they can avail of the free barangay clearance and certification needed for filing their application for work.
