Woman survives collapsing wall

CEBU, Philippines - A woman survived when a concrete wall collapsed in Sitio Bas, Barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City Friday evening.

The victim who was rushed to North District Hospital after the incident was identified as Anne Montebon, a resident of the place.

Initial investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 1 Edmund Belacaora of Station 3 in Barangay Basak of the Mandaue City Police Office said personnel of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation rushed to Sitio Bas after they were informed of the incident by the residents of the barangay.

Montebon was allegedly walking on their way home when a concrete wall owned by Engineer Gilbert Calunsag suddenly collapsed.

Police tagged heavy rains as the cause of the collapse of the concrete wall.

Calansag assured the police that he will help the needs of the victims while confined at the hospital.

Police are conducting further investigation into the incident. (FREEMAN)
