As pa wasn't home, son becomes shooting target

CEBU, Philippines - A man is in critical condition after he was shot several times Friday evening in barangay Calawisan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Angelito Bicalay, 27, single and a resident of the said place, was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital after he was shot by suspect Junifer Catamco, of legal age, also a resident  of the said barangay.

Police investigation revealed that the victim together with some friends were sitting on a bench outside his house when the suspect arrived and was looking for the victim's father.

But since the victim's father was not around, he instead shot the victim several times hitting him on his left leg, right arm and left shoulder as the suspect hurriedly left away.

Even if was already wounded, the victim and his friends were still able to run for safety. His neighbors rushed him to the hospital.

A hot pursuit operation was conducted for the possible arrest of the suspect but failed.

Further investigation revealed that the victim's family and the suspect had personal grudge with each other.

In fact, the suspect is currently out of probation after he was also charged of an attempted homicide case last year as he also attempted to kill the victim's father.   (FREEMAN)
