Half a million worth of ‘shabu’ seized

CEBU, Philippines - Police confiscated Friday afternoon a total of P528,000 in prohibited drugs in Lapu-Lapu City Public Market in Barangay Poblacion.

Police Senior Inspector Rogelio Pineda Jr. of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office - City Anti- Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group led the buy-bust operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.

The entrapment happened at around 4:30 p.m. led to the arrest of Aprilyn Roles, 25, who is a resident of Barangay Kasuntingan, Mandaue City.

Police authorities confiscated from her possession two pieces of P500 bill which was used as marked money for the operation, two medium packs of illegal substance with an estimated street value of P48,000 and another two large packs of drugs with an estimated street value of P480,000.

The recovered drugs were brought to LLCPO for further investigation while Roles will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
