METROPOLICE: Notorious robber falls
CEBU, Philippines - A notorious robber and carnapper who operates here in Metro Cebu was finally arrested by the police after two warrants of arrest were served against him in Sitio Santa Cruz, Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City Thursday evening.
The suspect was Jepsy Lariosa, 30, of Jagna town in Bohol and temporarily living in Barangay Guizo, who was served with two arrest warrants by operatives of Centro Police Station around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Police Officer 1 Jerome Lendio said Lariosa was arrested for a robbery case warrant signed by Judge Estela Cinco of the RTC Branch 55 in Mandaue City for his alleged involvement in a carnapping incident, while the other warrant of arrest was for a robbery case signed by Judge Allan Garcinao of the Municipal Trial Court in Lapu-Lapu City.
Lendio said the suspect's warrants were already in the hands of the police for quite a long time, however, the suspect was "so elusive."
Lendio said everytime they would serve the arrest warrants on him, the suspect was able to immediately sense it and flee.
An informant on Thursday was able to inform the police of the suspect's presence in the house of his live-in partner in Barangay Guizo, police said.
It was also learned that aside from PUJ snatchings, the suspect was also responsible in the series of carnappings of motorcycles in Mandaue City. (FREEMAN)
