Shootings claim lives of two men
CEBU, Philippines - Two people, including a man who was allegedly sniffing shabu with two companions in Barangay Day-as, Cebu City yesterday afternoon, died in separate shooting incidents.
Police only identified the victim as a certain "Ligan." His address and real identity are not yet known.
Homicide investigator Senior Police Officer 4 Alex Dacua said Ligan was shot dead inside a drug den allegedly owned by Leonidas Tura, 80.
Dacua said Tura narrated to him that three people were sniffing shabu inside the drug den and Ligan was one of them.
Dacua added that after sniffing shabu, Ligan had an argument with one of his companions.
Minutes later, one of Ligan's companion shot him several times resulting to his instantaneous death.
Investigators at the moment are clueless on the motive of the crime but Dacua said it might be connected to illegal drug activities.
Meanwhile, past 2 a.m. yesterday, a 49-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified riding-in-tandem on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.
Boby Etcuban was already dead when homicide investigators arrived at the crime scene.
Before the police arrived, the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation personnel assessed the victim as not breathing, no pulse and unresponsive.
The victim suffered several gunshot wounds in his body, believed to be the cause of his instantaneous death.
