Jealousy behind man's stabbing?
CEBU, Philippines - A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death Sunday evening in Sitio Lower Carreta, Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
The victim, identified as Raffy Benabaye Obiña, a laborer at the port area and a resident of Sitio Kalapukan, Barangay Carreta, was stabbed with the use of a gaff.
The suspect, Allan Ylaya, a neighbor of the victim, fled after the incident.
Michael Angelo Singson, responding officer, said the victim was allegedly into a drinking spree with a cousin Allan and later went to a nearby disco, where Ylaya stabbed him many times.
According to Senior Police Officer 1 Ruth Bongo-Violango, it was alleged that the suspect gets jealous of the victim whenever the suspect's wife is around.
The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.
